Several complaints have been logged regarding the electrical system on the Versa, including ignition problems and wiring problems with the indicator lights. A variety of readings in the car do not appear to be correct and there is confusion with some of the electrical faults with no obvious explanation.
There have been issues with the car losing battery and all of a sudden the vehicle stops working. This is despite all regular maintenance being properly done. The complaint does not appear to be down to the accelerator or unclean connections and dealers are struggling to resolve this complaint.
Due to problems with the power train, there have been reports of a clunking noise and juddering. This problem usually arises when the clutch is pushed or going at a slow pace over speed bumps. Nissan has conducted quality checks with the crankshaft but there has been no firm fix.
Due to the axles not being assembled correctly, drivers are experiencing a variety of clicking and juddering noises. Loose nut wheels are a common cause of this problem but for several drivers, there appears to be no real remedy.
Forward Collision Warning
Nissan has a very effective automatic braking system when there is danger of a collision but Versa drivers have reported issues with it malfunctioning. For some car owners, the auto-collision starts upon a slight push of the brakes, which is not normal.
